Persian rap was formed in Iran in the late 1370s and many singers are officially and unofficially (so-called underground) active in this style. The first Persian rap song in rap style, by Hassan Shamaeizadeh in the early 60s with his son with a well-known poem I know you lie when you say you love me A TV program called “Oxygen” was broadcast in Iran.

This piece was sung by Shahab Hosseini, the host of the program, and received some attention. Almost two years after this event, the first Persian rap album in Iran was released by Bineshpajooh masterpiece called Banknotes. This album, which was in the style of comic rap and was the first Persian rap album to be released in Iran with the official permission of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, was not very well received.

In the late seventies, Persian rap took a more serious form, Soroush Lashkari, nicknamed Nobody in Iran (which has had the greatest impact on this style of music and has caused the persistence of this style to this day because before Behnam Mehrkhan, nicknamed the White Demon in the United States, was one of the first singers to play Persian rap. Of course, other rappers such as Reza Naseri (Pishro), Hossein Rahmati (Iblis), Amir Maghsoudloo (Tataloo), Yas, etc. are among the first rappers in Iran.

The spread of Persian rap underground and through the Internet, especially since most of the underground works were full of profanity, caused the Music Office of the Ministry of Guidance to be strict in granting licenses to works of this style. Shortly after a Persian “rap-pop” song in the title of the TV series “Khaneh Be Doosh” was broadcast on one of Iran’s television channels, the Music Office of the Ministry of Guidance wrote a letter to the Radio and Television Organization broadcasting a song in this style from Media like TV complained.
